BBYC Sailing Weather
The Island is located several miles offshore and is subject to coastal thermal breezes. Our summer winds are generally moderate, with lighter breezes in the morning, hardening to brisk (15-20 knot) winds in the afternoon. The air is usually steady and predictable. The race courses are located in the middle of the bay, and are west of the Inland waterway; there is little outside boat traffic. The tidal range is 2.5 feet. The tidal current is a maximum of 1 knot with an even flow across the race course.
